The daring jump was undertaken by the “SkyEagle Trio” — Guo Yunfeng, Huang Hansen, and Song Bowen — equipped with SkyEagle’s self-developed parachuting gear. This historic accomplishment not only showcases the reliability of SkyEagle’s systems under extreme high-altitude conditions but also establishes a new benchmark for domestically developed parachute technology.
Breaking New Ground
The challenge required meticulous preparation over the course of a year to ensure the safety and performance of the equipment. At altitudes exceeding 12,000 meters, environmental conditions become increasingly hostile, with temperatures plunging below -50°C, oxygen levels dropping dramatically, and air pressure decreasing significantly. Without specialized oxygen systems, even a few seconds at these heights could result in unconsciousness.
To address these challenges, SkyEagle conducted rigorous testing using high-altitude simulation chambers to replicate conditions from 4,000 meters up to 12,000 meters. Every component, from the high-altitude wing parachute system to automatic activation devices, altimeters, navigation instruments, and high-altitude oxygen systems, underwent extensive trials to ensure reliability under extreme conditions.
